Jo qualified as a Pilates mat work instructor in 2016, after working for over 30 years as a Physiotherapist in a variety of settings, including elderly care and community paediatrics.

She qualified with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and is also trained to teach Reformer Pilates, as well as specialising in pre & post natal Pilates.

Since qualifying, Jo has continued to develop her professional skills by attending APPI courses focusing on Pilates for hyper-mobility, scoliosis, athletes/runners, osteoporosis, neurological conditions and also attended the bi-annual APPI conference in London.

"My career as a physiotherapist, working mainly in rehabilitative settings, naturally led me to Pilates, as I was keen to add another skill set which I could combine with the methods & practices I had used as a physio.

I’m passionate about teaching clients to learn how to improve their body awareness, flexibility, posture and strength, using skills I’ve learnt in my career.

I have an active family life, with five adult children and four grandchildren to keep me busy! I'm also a keen dressmaker and enjoy singing with my musician husband John in the community gospel choir, as well as being an avid cross country runner, veterans' track & field and open water swimmer."
